Dr. Ayoade Olatunbosun-Alakija is a globally renowned authority on sustainable development and a thought leader in her field. With a Masters Degree in International Development and Public Health; a Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine and in Surgery as well as a Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, Dr. Alakija is the Chief Executive Officer of AOA Global, an international development firm, and has worked with those at the highest levels of government, business and the international community to empower people to bring sustainable change to their own communities and nations.
Her international career began with the United Nations, and her time there ranged from working on reproductive and maternal health with United Nations Populations FUND (UNFPA) to health and development with United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
As a highly sought after development professional, Dr. Alakija offers world class expertise to a client base that is both varied and distinguished including the African Union, United Nations, Commonwealth Secretariat London, United States Agency for International Development and Common Market of East and Southern African Nations. She considers it a privilege to work with both Federal and State level within Nigeria and lead on the Rebuild Borno Initiative with the full backing of His Excellency, Governor Kashim Shettima. Dr. Alakija serves as ambassador to the Country Coordinating Mechanism for Nigeria for HIV/AIDs, Tuberculosis and Malaria and to the WEF Global Shapers community.
Dr. Olatunbosun-Alakija speaks eight languages and divides her time between the continents of Africa, Europe and Australasia. She is a devoted wife and mother of a 19 year-old Olympic athlete.
